From a Simple Beginning to Touching Millions
Nearly 50 years ago, Apostle Thankachan and Mrs. Beulah Thankachan came to this town with nothing but a call from God and a burden for lost souls. At that time, there was no Pentecostal church in the town, and a large Hindu temple stood in the center of the community.
They prayerfully walked around the town, interceding for its people. The Lord spoke to them to remain there and establish His ministry. Every day they stood on the streets and at the bus stand, distributing Gospel tracts and sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ.
With only an old bicycle, they traveled from village to village, preaching the Gospel. Seeing their passion and faithfulness, God provided a scooter. Though designed for only two people, Apostle Thankachan often traveled with three or four co-workers as they carried the Gospel to surrounding villages.
As the ministry expanded, God provided a nine-seater minivan. With great zeal for souls, they often carried far more people than its capacity and traveled extensively for evangelistic outreach. Slowly but steadily, the church began to grow. Through God's miraculous provision, land was purchased and a church building was constructed
Over the past five decades, God has done extraordinary things through this ministry. Thousands of orphaned and underprivileged children have been cared for and raised with love and dignity. Since 1988, more than 1,600 pastors have been trained and equipped through five Bible schools established in different states of India.
In 1986, God gave Apostle Thankachan a vision to start the Power of God Monthly Magazine, which has blessed and encouraged believers across the nation. Through church planting efforts, more than 107 churches have been established. The ministry has also expanded to include street children's outreach programs, tuition and education centers for village children, and vocational training programs such as the Nursing Assistant Program for young women.
God further opened doors for a 24/7 television channel, a Prayer Tower ministry, a 5,000-seat worship center, and the All India Pastor Welfare Association, which provides care, encouragement, and support for poor, needy, and pioneering pastors across the country. Through mass miracle healing crusades, village outreaches, city-wide evangelistic meetings, television broadcasts, and countless Gospel campaigns, millions of people have heard the message of Jesus Christ.
Twice each year, thousands of pastors gather for major pastor seminars where they receive spiritual encouragement, biblical teaching, and practical support for ministry. Aged Home Caring widow and Aged People
Today, God has placed a new burden on Apostle Thankachan's heart to establish Bible schools combined with industrial and vocational training, equipping students both spiritually and professionally for the future.
What began with two faithful servants, an old bicycle, and a God-given vision has grown into a ministry that has impacted millions of lives. Countless souls have been saved, pastors trained, churches planted, children cared for, and communities transformed.
